Maureen Reed for Congress

Lured by the promise of politics and pizza, young Democrats from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University gathered at the Gorecki Fireside Commons in Saint Joseph recently to listen to Maureen, and hear her vision for our district, state and nation.

Maureen answered questions about how she can defeat Michele Bachmann, her views on the current health care reform efforts, and what she would do about the skyrocketing cost of college tuition. Maureen told them that, "As a member of the Board of Regents at the University of Minnesota, I understand that we cannot fall short when it comes to educating our citizens. Investments must be made to ensure that we have an educated and skilled workforce that will remain competitive in this global economy."

It was a great event, and wonderful to see so many young voters wanting to be involved!
