Topic “Minnesota's 6th Congressional District”
This is tough news to share. With a heavy heart I am announcing the suspension of my campaign for Congress in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District. During the past few days, I have come to the conclusion that a prolonged primary fight only assists Michele Bachmann. I feel that it is time for the DFL to unify behind one candidate in this race.
Dr. Maureen Reed, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Sixth District, made it official today at the Secretary of State's office after a press conference. Reed's campaign focused on her status as an outsider in politics, wrapped up in the politics as usual neither of St. Paul nor Washington.
Support of the Week:
Rob Jahnke recently took the time to talk about why he supports Maureen Reed.
Bachmann needs to use these forums to explain her poor legislative record on job creation.
Today, Michele Bachmann will host four job forums across the 6th district in St Cloud, Monticello, Blaine, and Hugo. The Reed Campaign calls on Bachmann to use these forums to explain her legislative record of opposing job creation.
Maureen spoke at a supporter's home near White Bear Lake recently talking about her views, background, and the race for Congress. Neighbors, colleagues and old friends of all political persuasions were interested in what it will take to defeat Michele Bachmann in 2010.
Physician Maureen Reed (D) has devoted a whole section of her campaign Web site to explaining how she can defeat Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) in November.
Increased Coverage for the Uninsured and Elimination of Pre-existing Conditions are Important Accomplishments, Payment Reform and Reducing Costs are Necessary Next Steps
Who's more likely to perform the politically Herculean feat of ousting GOP cable TV darling Michele Bachmann from her Sixth District congressional seat -- DFL insider Tarryl Clark or outsider Maureen Reed?
Recently Maureen attended a Meet and Greet at Boutwells Landing in Stillwater. More than three dozen delegates from Senate District 52, Senate District 56, and interested residents filled the room to listen to Maureen talk about her background and vision for the campaign.
In a district that is historically a difficult area for Democrats, and in what looks to be a trying political environment, people have asked our campaign how we expect to win against Bachmann.
It is an important question. We can have the best plans for fixing health care, getting our economy back on track, and educating our children; but they will not go into effect unless we can defeat Michele Bachmann.
