In the month of January, we'll be highlighting a Supporter of the day- why they are supporting Maureen, and why you should too!
January 31: Diane Dahl from Stillwater. Diane supports Maureen because:
"I have known Maureen for many years as a physician colleauge and friend. I admire her greatly for her intelligence, energy, and communication ability. I know she will thoroughly study the issues and take a balanced stand for rational, fair, and compassionate decisions on the difficult issues facing our district and country, especially in the areas of education and health care."
Holiday Greetings
Happy Holidays!
Best wishes during this exciting time of year. While we have very important events to look forward to as we move to an election year, it is equally essential to take a minute to remember how valuable it is to serve others.
Under the red and green glow of her beautiful Christmas tree, we had a great event at the home of Judy Johnson in Baytown Township- just south of Stillwater. Neighbors, friends, and co-workers filled the living room to enjoy some holiday treats and meet Maureen.
Anoka House Party
On another cold night in Anoka, just miles from our campaign headquarters, we had a great house party right off Main Street at the home of Ron Jankowski. Ron remarked that it was "a wonderful gathering of people who are trying to make a positive difference in the world- everyone thought that Maureen was a warm, intelligent, caring individual."
Recently, in Buffalo- located in the heart of Wright County- we held a great event at the beautiful home of Judie Rose. People gathered from all around the area to find out more about Maureen. Judie said that she supported Maureen because, "I feel it is important that we are represented by someone with more than conservative sound bites, and feel Maureen has the experience and background to defeat Michelle Bachmann and represent my values."
It was a dark and stormy night on Tuesday as we experienced the first true Minnesota snowfall of the year. That didn't deter Maureen or other battle-tested Minnesotans from congregating at a house party at another one of our ardent supporter's home. As the wind wailed outside, supporters showed that they were fired up for the road ahead, joining Maureen in a spirited discussion of policy and the challenging but promising path to victory over Michele Bachmann.
On what is sure to be one of many chilly nights to come, Maureen was greeted warmly at the home of Tim and Noreen Farrell for a great event. Tim, a 3M retiree, commented that he is supporting Maureen because "she is the epitome of the kind of candidate that represents good government and America. She moves us away from anger and fear and toward civic engagement and community spirit."
This week, in the heart of historic downtown Stillwater, we had a great event hosted by Dwight and Becky Cummins. Friends, colleagues, and co-workers filled the Cummins' gorgeous home to meet Maureen.
Maureen remarked, "There are too many career politicians in Washington. I have practiced medicine for twenty years and managed businesses- balancing budgets from $600,000 to $2 billion dollars. We need people in Congress who have a wide breath and depth of real-world experience- and results- to deal with today's complex issues."
Happy Thanksgiving!
My hope is that you are well and getting ready to enjoy the holiday with family and friends. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays - it is a day filled with good cheer and gratitude for all the blessings we have in our lives. This year is no exception!
Afton Meet and Greet
Recently, we had a great event in Afton at the home of Christy and Doug Hlavacek. As a former Chairwoman of the Stillwater School Board, Christy holds the great distinction of being one of the few people who can say that they have beaten Michele Bachmann in an election. In 1999, Christy defeated Michele Bachmann for a seat on the Stillwater school board. In under a year, I look forward to Maureen joining Christy in the exclusive club of individuals who have overcome Bachmann at the ballot box!
